With emphasis on the RESPONSE part of ‘responsibility’, we regularly bring together experts from very different areas of the sustainability sector, especially sustainable building. Accordingly, the fourth knowledge hackathon took place on 14 December 2023 in Berlin looking at the topic of Design and Sustainability.
Attending this event were: Stefan Behnisch (architect | Behnisch Architekten), Bernd Draser (cultural scientist | author of the book ‘Nachhaltiges Design’), Dr Samuel Huber (Planet-centric Design | For Planet Strategy Lab) and Uli Mayer-Johanssen (marketing expert and designer | member of the German Society of the Club of Rome).
The event was hosted by Dr Christine Lemaitre (Chairman of the Knowledge Foundation, Managing Director of the DGNB) and Prof. Regina Hanke (Board Member of the Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA), Vice Speaker of the Council for Europe and International Affairs of the German Design Day, member of BDG).
After the inspiring speeches shared by our experts, in the afternoon the delegates separated into small groups to discuss and tackle a variety of questions relating to the topics of design and sustainability:
The ‘knowledge nuggets’ worked up at the event will soon be published here for all to appreciate.
